Inauguration of two Quick Impact Projects with Ministry of Information of Cambodia (24-25 May 2025)

The Embassy of India, in partnership with Cambodia’s Ministry of Information and local authorities, launched two impactful Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) in Kratie Province on 24–25 May 2025, under the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation framework.

On 24 May, a solar energy project was inaugurated in Snuol District by Ambassador H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung and H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information. Solar home systems will be installed in 60 households and 35 community spaces, providing clean and reliable energy to remote areas. This initiative supports Cambodia’s environmental goals and improves education and safety by enabling access to lighting and information.

On 25 May, a second QIP—“Community Support for Schooling”—was launched in Ou Krieng Senchey District, where 200 bicycles, helmets, and water bottles will be distributed to students at three primary schools. The first 70 bicycles were presented to indigenous students at Pakle Primary School. The bicycles aim to reduce travel time and enhance school attendance.

Ambassador Bawitlung highlighted that both projects reflect India’s commitment to inclusive development. These QIPs embody the strong India-Cambodia partnership, enhancing rural infrastructure and educational access while fostering goodwill and grassroots empowerment.
