Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Campaign

Department of Posts of Government of India is organizing a letter writing campaign on the theme 'Letter to My Motherland (in English) / Mere Desh Ke Naam Khat (in Hindi) inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's "Amar Desher Mati". Letter to be written should be in Hindi or English or one of the official languages of India. There are two categories (I) Upto to 18 Years; and  (II) Above 18 Years. Participant need to give a certificate of his age on the letter itself by stating ‘I certify that I am below/above (as applicable) the age of 18 years as on 01/01/2018’ along with a copy of proof of date of birth i.e. copy of passport of other valid document containing date of birth.

Last date of submission of letter is 31.10.2018. Letter should be handwritten on A-4 size paper with world limit of maximum 1000 words. Letter should directly be sent to Assistant Director General (Philately), Department of Posts, Room No. 108, Dak Bhawan, Sansad Marg, New Delhi-110001. Letter should NOT be sent to Embassy of India, Phnom Penh.

All NRIs and PIOs of any age can participate in the campaign. A certificate stating ‘I certify that I am Non*resident Indian / Person of Indian Origin (as applicable) residing in Cambodia.’ may also be given on the letter or on a separate paper.

All letters reaching Department of Posts till 31.10.2018 will be evaluated by committees at the level of Postal Directorate. Top three letters in each category will be awarded prize of Rs. 50,000 (Ist Prize), Rs. 25,000 (IInd Prize) and Rs. 10,000 (IIIrd prize).

Embassy of India encourages all NRIs and PIOs residing in Cambodia to participate in the letter writing campaign.
